Welcome to the Strings Attached Blog. I am ecstatic you took the opportunity to consider us for your guitar, bass, or mandolin instruction. Since this is the first entry, I'd like to take this opportunity to share with you what to expect from these posts and lay out the business plan as we move closer to the inaugural semester of classes. With that said, this particular post will probably be a little longer than the typical weekly one to which you will become accustomed. Of course the COVID 19 virus could potentially delay us; however, at this time, our plan is to open doors for instruction August 11, 2020.
Prior to that; however, much must be accomplished. As close as this web site is to completion, there are still some things on the horizon that need to be done: 1) I have yet to set up a way for students to "e-pay" tuition. The people who have my ear inform me this would be more convenient for my students and thus I will make it happen for you prior to August 11. 2) There are a couple of tweaks that are less urgent and really cannot be updated on the site prior to the beginning of lessons. One of these is a "review" section added to the site so prospective students can read about your experiences as my student. Of course, if you are already one of my previous students from the past, or just have an opinion you'd like to share, feel free to leave a comment in the "comment" section below this blog. My marketing campaign has to get underway. This web site is the beginning of it and as I am still completing my last year as an educator in Macon, GA, I will not be full time in Ohatchee until mid to late June. So, to say I need student commitments is an understatement. (just full disclosure). Word of mouth is best, I will also schedule seminars in Ohatchee and surrounding towns to recruit students. As these get scheduled, I will announce them here in the Blog and on the web site. There are also tuition incentives I will give my students who bring new students to class if they enroll with us. So..... if you want some nice discounts on tuition, refer some students to me. Just have them name drop you as a referral and it will be "chiching" for you with the discount. I am certainly already up and running regarding scheduling "Free Consultations". These consultations are simply you and I getting together, either personally or virtually, to get a feel for each other. I need to know your goals, current level of playing and what you plan to do as a guitarist. You will probably still have some questions and want to know more about me. Should you decide you want to join the Strings Attached family, we can establish a plan, review the contract, schedule lessons and go from there. The consultation should only last 15-20 minutes and we should be set. Tuition isn't due until the first lesson of the semester. Now, regarding what you should expect from these posts........ I anticipate I will be posting on this blog around the end of each week once we get closer to "Pick Off" (beginning of the semester). During these blogs, I will reflect on the previous week and express my thoughts for the upcoming week. Any announcements and/or new additions to the page, etc will be posted here as well as other areas. My writing will reflect my personality, humor and passion for what I do but as I stated earlier, this is probably the longest writing you will see. (I can ramble though if I get something on my mind or chest.) So with that, I will end today's blog with a quote from a song of one of my favorite artists... "...but if you really want to taste some cool success, You better learn how to play guitar"...John Mellencamp Make it Work! Mike
